THIS IS OUR CHURCH 2012

4 DNA'S of IFGF GISI are:

1. COMMISSION (the Great Commission)

IFGF GISI was started with a desire to fulfill the Great Commission. This was the seed of faith, that birthed a fellowship among Indonesian students in the USA back in 1980.  This small group of students grew from one church to 3000 churches in 38 nations!  And every IFGF GISI church has the same goal: to fulfill the Great Commission. Any church that is not seriously involved in helping fulfill the Great Commission has forfeited its biblical right to exist (Oswald J. Smith).

2COMPASSION

Our mission statement is PEOPLE IS OUR MISSION. This means that no matter what we do, it is for the people we serve and those who are in ministry with us.  Our focus is to reach all people especially those who are oppressed, poor, and lost.  This is the reason we established our mission vehicle, the Indonesian Harvest Outreach (IHO) in 1989 that transformed into World Harvest in 2000. Through World Harvest and its affiliate organizations, we have labored to serve 50 needy communities, provide education for 7000 poor children, build schools for the poor, train leaders across the globe through the Harvest Festival, reach millions through family program in the radio and the U Channel (a television program) and many more.  We are also committed to support the United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals to end poverty by 2015.

3. COVENANT

IFGF GISI is a covenantal church.  A covenant is more than just a friendship or a contract/agreement.  We do not break a covenant, even in the midst of tests and trials.  God has made a covenant with us, and we made a covenant with each other under the IFGF GISI covering.  The origin of the word covenant, ”beriyth”, talks about cutting a compact between two pieces of flesh and binding them together into one life and one will.  It is written in the heart and there is no definite timeline as to when the covenant will end (Deuteronomy 29:10-13). A covenant made with God should be regarded not as restrictive but as protective (Russell M. Nelson).

4. CUTTING EDGE

As IFGF GISI continues to walk through the journey of fulfilling its vision, God has consistently demonstrated His grace in bringing our church to be the trend-setter of His movement.  IFGF GISI desires to continue moving with the Holy Spirit into new ministries, new areas, as well as ministering to the next generation with relevance and passion. We pray that God will bring this cutting edge movement to its completion! (Philippians 1:6)
